My Love For Narnia {a guest post by Miss Raquel}

I had never been a huge fantasy fan.

Honestly, I thought the stuff was just kinda...weird.

Until I watched this movie...
btw, just as a side note...you should check out the drawing that my bro did of this pic of Aslan...EPICNESS itself!

My brother was the first one who actually got me into Narnia.  (Yeah, doesn't that sound like he took me there? :)  I wish!)

He had read all of the books before.  I had only read one - 'The Horse and His Boy'.  (Don't ask me why I read the 4th one first.)

Then, when this movie came out, my bro was stoked to see it!  So he bought it, and we watched it, and...
I was a loyal Narnia within thirty minutes of seeing.

So after seeing the first movie, I ran and read all of the books!!  I had recently gotten the whole set FREE from a cousin who was moving.  So I dove into them...and read them all within a week.
THEN, we watched:

ooooooooh yeah!

And I fell in love with Narnia even more.

Recently, I have been introducing two of my sisters to the Narnia world...reading books and listening to radio theatre drama.

One day, one of my sisters gave me a hug and said, "Raquel, I love that perfume that you wear!  It reminds me of Narnia!"
haha  How did she know what Narnia smelled like? :)  She didn't...but I guess she just associated my perfume to whenever we read or listened to Narnia.

When the third one came out, my bro and I went and saw it IN THEATERS!  3-D, people...3-D!

It was good.  Amazing graphics and cg!!
The storyline was a little distorted, but...so was 'Prince Caspian'.
But I always tell people that 'when you don't compare them to the books, you absolutely LOVE them!'

I love Narnia either way.  In the books or in the movies.
It's not what people have created it to be, that counts.
It's the way YOU see it.  The way C.S. Lewis wrote it.

So...for the characters...
:)
I'm just going to go over the main ones, because I don't want to take up a HUGE post on here!

William Moseley as Peter Pevensie/High King Peter
in 'The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe'

I love Peter's courage, bravery and overall brotherly love.

  in 'Prince Caspian'

I think he is such a good example for young men in today's world.
And William did a GREAT job!!  I couldn't have pictured a better person to play him!

---

Anna Popplewell as Queen Susan/Susan Pevensie
in 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'

I liked Susan in the first Narnia movie.  But I didn't like how she argued so much with Peter. :) haha

 in 'Prince Caspian'

I love her in the second one :)  There were some parts that she was different (from the book) for the better and for the worse.  I like how much she is willing to help fight for Narnia...but sometimes I got a bit of a feministic undertoning from her behavior.
do like Susan, though :)  And think that I am a lot like her.

Skandar Keyenes as Edmund Pevensie/King Edmund
in 'The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe'

Ah!!  The trouble-maker who turns a hero! :)
In the first movie, he's a jerk.  (except at the end :)

 in 'Prince Caspian'

In the second, he is SUCH a sweetie!

in 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader'

In the third, I love him the most :)
---

Georgie Henley as Queen Lucy/Lucy Pevensie
in 'The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe'

Aw, sweet Lucy!  The discoverer of Narnia!
In the first movie, she is so adorable.  A cute little English girl with a bob. :)

 in 'Prince Caspian'

In the second, I think she was more at her 'awkward' stage in life.  Just hitting her teen years, etc.

in 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader'

In the third, I think she really started to blossom.  I love her sweet and gentle spirit!  And I love the talk that Aslan gives her...♥

---

 Ben Barns as Prince Caspian
in 'Prince Caspian'

AND...my favorite character by far. :)  He's my SECOND favorite in the books, though...

I think Ben Barnes did an incredible job as Prince Caspian!

in 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader'

I can't believe that people thought it was a different actor in the third movie!  Duh?!
:D

 ---

Will Poulter as Eustace Clarence Scrubb

I think this dude did an AMAZING job!!  You hate the little terd at the beginning...but you can't help but be excited to see him come back in the next movie! :)

---

I love Narnia.

And I hope you do too.

If you do, leave me a comment and say hello to a fellow Narnian ;)

Thank you so much for letting me guest post, Madelyn!

Great post! I totally agree, I have loved narnia since I was tiny.

Apparently the next Narnia movie they are making will be "The Magictions Nephew" I don't really care what order as long as they make them all!!!
